The concept of an 'emotional companion' with an adaptive personality remains to be proven. Many AI products promise this but don't really deliver.

The concept is appealing on paper. I particularly appreciate the 'privacy-first' approach and the ambition to create an alarm clock that understands context rather than simply being a voice assistant. The use of non-visual detection technologies for a bedroom device is relevant.

MmWave sleep radars exist (see Withings), but accuracy remains debated compared to medical wearables.

I would be delighted to follow the project's progress on your Kickstarter page as well, adding behind-the-scenes images, sketches, key milestones, and YouTube videos. Unfortunately, I've only seen one 6-minute video without wires. Looking forward to hearing from you.

The founding team, comprised of scientists and engineers, has been focused on R&D in XR and robotics since then. Our work prior to Raychel included early-stage XR hardware prototypes and B2B robotics projects, which were not publicly released.

Raychel is a new consumer-focused company founded by this same core team of scientists and designers, channeling years of research into creating meaningful products. We are currently preparing more detailed background information, team profiles, and project milestones to share on our channels.
